Over the past several years there has been
increasing interest in the restoration of Native Prairies and the preservation of prairie plant species. These
wildflowers and grasses are highly adaptable to difficult soils or conditions and can provide very interesting colors,
forms and textures. Over time prairie plants develop extensive root systems and therefore can tolerate a variety of soil
and moisture conditions. After the native plants are established they require very little irrigation, and no fertilizer or
pesticides making them ideal for low maintenance situations.
